I used Visin eye drops on my Yorkie. What's the worse that could happen? |
My dog's eye is bloodshot red. She squints every now and then. when i push back her hair, she closes the eye that's red. i guess it hurths, that's why. a while ago i was playing ball with her, and the ball accidentally hit her in the eye. she lowered her head, and started going in circles. now she's playing again. i assume she got hit, or scratched. her eye has been like this since last sunday. i don't see it getting worse. i would think her eye heals its own. I don't know what to do. I would go to the vet, but i don't think my mom would pay for doggie's bill. she's my responsiblity, and i spent all my money last sunday on clothes. " i spent all my money last sunday on clothes." My, my isn't that showing responsibility! Your dog's health should never suffer because of your inability to set aside money to care for it. Your dog's eye is obviously injured. You could have scratched the surface of her eye or being that she's a small breed even possible ruptured the eyeball. Don't just go squirting something in there thinking that's going to remedy it because this would more than likely make it worse and be VERY painful for her. Get this dog to the vet. Your mom won't pay for "doggie's bills"? As the adult of the household it's her responsibility to care for an injured pet. It's not yours. Perhaps you may want to reconsider having this pet if the priority is spending all you have on clothing and leaving nothing for pet care. First don't use Visine on a dog - it could irritate the eye even worse. Second, take the clothes back and go to the vet. Or borrow the money from your mom and do chores to pay her back. Your dog probably has an eye infection or injury and it needs treatment. Now. I hope that you don't find "pirate eye patch" cute on dogs. I also think that your mom would pay for your dogs vets bill. Sight is important, don't you think??? Never use human meds on a dog! you could cause your dog to go blind or hurt your poor animal. you should tell your mom and she isn't a good mom if she let you have a dog and is not willing to take it to the vet when it needs help. The dog needs an eye test. And probably medication. A dog's ph is different from humans. I worked as a vet tech in LA for a year. You are not responsible at all. You can safely put some murine in the dogs eye,or purchase an antibiotic for eyes at any local feed store, but if this pet's eye has been scratched it will require being seen by a vet. Breeder in Mississippi I like the suggestion about taking the clothes back or borrowing from your mom. Your dog really needs to go to the vet and get that eye looked at. You wouldn't want to wait for the possibility of something really bad to go wrong. And I Visine isn't a product for animals. It's for people who don't want to have red looking eyes and certainly not for eye ailments anyway. In the future, since you know the dog is your responsibility act the responsible person, put some money aside for just this sort of thing. Trust me, it won't be the first or last time your dog will need more than a yearly vet visit. It happens, count on it. |
